President's Message

Welcome to the Waldorf Wildcats Youth Football and Cheer program. It is hard to believe another football season is just around the corner.

April 2014

President’s Message

Welcome to the Waldorf Wildcats Football and Cheerleading program. We are approaching the kickoff of the 2014 Season.  Once again, I would like to thank the parents, community, sponsors, coaches and the Waldorf Wildcats’ board for their efforts in making 2013 the success it was. We are excited about the upcoming 2014 season as it marks our 40th anniversary.  The Wildcats have been a staple in the Charles County Community since 1974.  The Wildcat Board is working diligently to make this season a special one.  We have new football and cheer uniforms and we plan to bring excitement to the Waldorf Wildcats participants, parents, coaches and volunteers.  Come be a part of something special!

The season was memorable in many ways, our custom uniforms, a respectable showing in post season playoff action and continued growth of our cheerleading squads.  The Wildcats took six football teams to the playoffs in 2013 with four reaching the championship games and three finishing as division champions. We took three cheerleading squads to the Charles County Cheerleading Competition and all placed second in their divisions.  Wildcat pride was evident as they did so with the poise and character we have all come to expect.
We never want to forget that this is only possible due to the many great leaders dedicated to our youth football players and cheerleaders. Along the sidelines are also great volunteers, coaches, team parents, concession workers, parents who drive their sons and daughters to practice, prepare late dinners, and give their sons and daughters emotional support. Our goal is to give your child the opportunity to learn life social skills, a solid work ethic and love for the game of football and cheerleading in a safe and supportive environment.
The Waldorf Wildcat board strives in its mission to make our program about the kids. We want to cultivate an environment that everyone believes is very special, something people want to be part of as players, cheerleaders, volunteers, sponsors and fans. We are committed to providing an exceptional and rewarding experience for your sons and daughters. I challenge our student athletes to be strong role models by setting and achieving their goals in the classroom and in the community as well as on and off the field. Furthermore, I encourage our parents and community to get involved in our program for the 2014 season to continue to make this a successful program we can all enjoy and be proud of.
We continue to update our website as new information becomes available. Please use this valuable resource to answer any questions you may have regarding the upcoming season. Calendar activities leading up to practices and continuing through the post season are listed on our Calendar page on our web site. If you are new to the Waldorf Wildcats Youth Football and Cheer, please see the Registration page for additional information. On behalf of the Waldorf Wildcats’ board, we thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,

Billy Absher
